Manager Quality & Regulatory Affairs

Theragenics's Brachytherapy business, located in Buford, Georgia, manufactures, markets and distributes "seeds" used primarily in the minimally invasive treatment of localized prostate cancer.  We are currently seeking a Manager of Quality & Regulatory Affairs to join our team.

Provide guidance and ensure compliance with the Quality System Regulations including FDA, ISO 13485, and applicable international regulations.  Develops and implements strategies for implementing the company's quality objectives through the activities of the department and cross-functional quality teams.   Serves as a mentor to company personnel by training in quality system requirements and the use of quality tools for continuous process improvement.  Provides guidance to internal departments on quality and regulatory compliance issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct Management Reviews and periodic Quality Team meetings and hosting external quality audits.
  • Manage the implementation of the company's quality objectives through specific improvement projects and routine processes.
  • Serve as mentor to other departmental personnel by training in QSRs and the use of quality tools for continuous improvement.  Provides guidance to other departments on quality and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Advises Engineering, Manufacturing, and other departments on applicable regulations, requirements and standards.
  • Monitors change requests for impact on regulatory submissions.  Provide updates to regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Helps maintain regulatory/technical documentation.
  • Directs the activities of all Quality department employees.
  • Trains and instructs employees company-wide in quality system requirements and company procedures.
  • Reviews and comments on the work of others to ensure compliance with quality system requirements.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: 

  • B.S. Degree, in a related science or technical field or post high school degree with equivalent work experience.

    EXPERIENCE: 

  • 5+ years quality management experience working in a medical device company.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with regulatory registrations and notifications.
  • Experience in medical device industry required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Written and verbal skills must be excellent.  Must be able to create clear, concise written communications to regulators and written quality system documentation.
  • Must have project management skills with the ability to lead and participate in cross-functional new product teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that foster cooperation and commitment.
  • Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency for completing projects on schedule.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external operational and scientific personnel with varying degrees of education and experience.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple duties and projects.
  • Must be familiar with computers and able to word process documents and compile and organize data. (MS Office and other Windows based software)
  • Must possess strong knowledge of design controls.
  • Ability to delegate laterally to complete activities and reports.

Brachytherapy Sales Specialist Mid-Atlantic Territory 

We are seeking a clinician (BSN, RD, RT, PT, etc.) with 3-5 years recent clinical experience and who has a desire to start a career and be trained in medical device sales. Selected individual should reside in the Baltimore area in order to effectively cover the mid-Atlantic territory (NJ, MD, NY, VA, and DC).  The position requires air travel and overnight travel of approximately 3 nights per week.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Brachytherapy Specialist is responsible for meeting the sales goals established by executive management. This can be accomplished by maintaining and improving relationships with current customers, re-establishing sales relationships with old customers, and developing new sales opportunities with prospective customers. 

  • Provide clinical and technical information on our products to customers throughout the established territory
  • Maintain customer relationships through regular site visits and continued contact
  • Re-establish contact with previous customers to renew sales opportunities
  • Conduct market research and gather data to locate potential customers
  • Develop new sales opportunities within the established territory through networking and cold calls
  • Conduct training programs for customers
  • Represent the company at trade shows and conferences
  • Maintain understanding of our product as well as competitor products
  • Resolve concerns and complaints of customers as required
  • Provide timely and accurate sales data to Sales Manager.

EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Certified medical professional (BSN, RD, RT, PT, etc.)

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Three to five years of hands-on clinical experience.
  • Some sales experience is acceptable but not required for the position.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: 

  • Exceptional communicator with demonstrated experience in training or presenting material.
  • Must be highly organized and flexible with the ability to prioritize.
  • Must be able to travel 60 – 70% of the time, including occasional weekend travel.

Customer Service Manager  

Theragenics’ Brachytherapy business, located in Buford, Georgia, manufactures, markets and distributes “seeds” used primarily in the minimally invasive treatment of localized prostate cancer. We are currently seeking a Customer Service Manager to join our team. 

Responsible for the daily management and leadership of the Customer Service department to ensure standards of service are met or exceeded and fulfilled in accordance with Theragenics' policies and operating procedures. Participate in the design and development of systems and/or process enhancements to meet the needs of internal and external customers. Provide on-going training and development of customer service representatives and hold team members accountable to their established responsibilities.   Track and report weekly sales performance.  Represent Customer Service Department at weekly manufacturing meetings and at management meetings.  Provide communications interface among manufacturing, sales representatives, customers and distributors. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the Customer Service department to ensure orders are properly entered and verified and all functions and responsibilities completed as scheduled.
  • Manage the responsibilities of the Lead Customer Service Representative and Customer Serve Representatives.
  • Establish and ensure priorities and objectives are communicated and completed.
  • Establish domestic and international new customer accounts in database. Ensure region/country specific requirements and laws regarding licenses, certificates and/or registrations are satisfied.
  • Perform order entry and verification when required due to staffing resources or demand.
  • Familiarize customers (distributors) with appropriate product return procedures.
  • Determine and perform necessary THOR/THOR lite testing for improvements prior to launch to live system. 
  • Resolve any credit issues.
  • Define required and developmental training for Customer Service Representatives.
  • Ensure all Customer Service Representatives are trained and knowledgeable on product offerings and ordering process. Provide ongoing feedback to employees.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of customer service required.
  • Minimum of 5 years as supervisor or manager required.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry or medical device business preferred.

 KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Computer literacy including Windows environment, required; data entry experience preferred.
  • Outstanding accuracy, attention to detail, and strong concentration.
  • Composure in all situations; irreproachable telephone etiquette.
  • Able to multi-task; self-starter; organized; team-player.
  • Ability to interact with regulatory agencies such as FDA, OSHA, NRC, GDNR & ISO.
