Theragenics diversified its brachytherapy product line in 2003 by adding an Iodine-125 (I-125) seed.  By manufacturing and distributing seeds with both major isotopes in the field of prostate brachytherapy, our sales force is better able to meet the needs of customers who require both isotopes. It allows us to more effectively compete for direct contracts from those who prefer a single-source provider, such as group purchasing organizations serving large numbers of hospitals.  Having I-Seed in our product line enables the Company to provide physicians and patients with an alternative to our premiere TheraSeed (Pd-103) seed.
